one time i was driving down the road, listening to the radio late at night, feeling a very certain type of melancholy. when the song ended, a lady came on. she named the song, paused, then said “do you ever feel kind of melancholy, listening to the radio late at night?” and she continued talking about how these feelings come to you in the dark and i felt like i’d been psychically invaded
